First off, I would like to point out my definition of diet. I do not mean a fad, or a quick fix, I mean a diet – the way the word was meant to be used. Social media has given the word ‘diet’ a lose-weight-quick definition when in reality it is supposed to mean what you eat on a day to day basis.
So this is about what I changed my diet to.
I used to eat very sporadically when it came to healthy food. I ate relatively healthfully, but often I would eat potato chips, drink soda, eat quick fix foods like top ramen, pizzas, and frozen meals. I gained probably 30 pounds and have not been able to really get it off over the past few years.
I have done quite a bit of research the past few months into several different types of diets. Until one day I realized – you have to eat what makes you feel good. Eating real food over processed as much as possible, making sure you’re not depriving yourself but giving yourself the fuel you need.
My main plan is just to eat healthy – and often times when I’m purposefully trying to not eat things like potato chips or soda I want it more. Sometimes, just like anyone else I’m sure, I give in.
